Controversies
Since its earliest beginnings, the medium of photography has sparked a number of controversies and court proceedings which became the basis for many ethical and legal debates. The exhibition was prepared by the Musée de l’Elysée and brought to the Czech Republic by Galerie Rudolfinum, which presented a collection of some 80 photographs. Some are more familiar, others less, but their common denominator lies in the legal action which they sparked. Each photograph has its own legal subtext, which is always a complex and serious matter. The direct typographic solution for the exhibition’s promotional materials references the stories “behind the scenes,” and makes one think about the legal proceedings.
