Figurant tells the tale of a day laborer who comes to his morning shift in an industrial plant on the city periphery. As soon as he takes off his clothes, he loses his own identity along with them, gets dressed in a soldier’s uniform and receives a firearm. His determination not to fall behind his more experienced fellows is tested in a series of increasingly disturbing events. The film poster’s central theme is the symbolic doubling of the main character, who is experiencing a blurring of reality and fiction with an uncertain end.
